Kate

I'm excited about this post. I promised I'd share who the little hat is for and I'm making good :) Kate is the 4-year-old daughter of a friend (Amanda) of a friend (Julie) of mine (I've only met Amanda twice in person, but I consider her a good friend anyway!) Kate was diagnosed this past week with Wilms tumor, a cancer of the kidneys and is beginning what will be a long process of chemo treatments. Julie asked if I could make a few hats and I was elated about the idea because my heart was so burdened for Amanda and I wanted to help, but didn't know how. So I got to work.
I made a couple hats and a flannel pillow case too.
But, I couldn't leave out Kate's little brother :)
As I was finishing these up, I thought of something I can make Amanda too. That's how projects pile up on me, haha.

The reason I am excited to share this with you all is (first) because this precious family would covet your prayers for Kate! And for the rest of the family too. And (second) because I was reminded through this process that God can use the most unrelated and smallest of our gifts and talents to help others. Money is not always required to bless someone else.

I pilfered this picture from Facebook, so you'd have a mental picture when you're praying :)

  1. I will definitely keep this family in my prayers. Having gone thru various chemos in thelast few years myself, I know just how much small gifts like this are appreciated. You are doing a wonderful thing and I am glad that you are able to share your gift with this family. the hats and pillowcase are beautiful.
