Sock Puppies

These are the sock puppies I made my sister's kiddos for Christmas. I've been dying to post them, but didn't want Jana to see! They were so much fun to make, they're all done by hand out of a pair of socks. I found the instructions in a Martha Stewart Handmade Holiday magazine. There were so many good ideas in there and none of them too hard. I hope she puts one out every year!

Piggy Tails

You have to love these pig tails. We never thought
she'd have enough hair for this, but it has finally
happened! Now if she'd just get some more on top!
hehehe : )

Little Casey

Can you believe this cutie patootie!!!???!!! I love these pics, he looks like the little spitfire he's always been, huh? The sunglasses remind me of the picture of Natalie in her sunglasses that I posted here a few weeks ago. Like father, like daughter!

Pillows

These are some little animal pillows I made for my niece and nephew for Christmas. Didn't they turn out so cute? Super easy too. My old machine had terrible problems sewing on fleece, or anything with much stretch, but my new Pfaff was amaaaazazing : )

THE bag

Over the summer I made a bag like this to use as Natalie's diaper bag (I'm just not into the cutesy kind, if ya know what I mean.) Anyway, of all the bags I've made in the past, this is the one that took off. I sold this one recently and have several more orders for these bags! I must say, I'm proud to have designed something that people seem to like so much!

Christmas Tree

I know this picture is fuzzy, but I just love it anyway. Natalie was enthralled with decorating the tree and it's such a cute memory for me that I had to post it. (She doesn't like wearing pants very much right now : )
We love our tree, it has ornaments from Casey's and my childhood, homemade ornaments from nieces and nephews and now we're adding our own kids' first ornaments. I like an eccelectic tree full of memories so much better than the matchy-matchy kind, ya know?

Cousins

I really like this picture of Natalie with three of her cousins at Grandma's house over Thanksgiving. From left to right, the boys are Thomas, Alex and Joseph and they all belong to Casey's sister, Jennifer. We had a great time and really good food (thanks Becky)!

Andrew Marcus Jones

Here is a picture of Ryan and Becky's new baby! He was just a few hours old and that's Melissa holding him and Ryan, his proud papa next to him.
He is soooooo cute! He was 8 lbs. 1 oz., 20" long and has a lot of black hair. I got to hold him yesterday while he was sleeping. I don't remember Natalie being so tiny! Makes me so excited for Layla's arrival : )

My Star Students : )

This is (from right to left) Jordan, Jessica and Angela and these are the aprons we made for last week's sewing lesson! Didn't they all turn out so cute? I'm so proud of my students! I'm soooooo glad that Mom taught me to sew when I was young, I think it's one of the most valuable skills she could have taught me. I'm so happy for the opportunity to pass it along.

Love this poem!

Blessed is the mother who can hold onto her children while letting them go,
Who puts a tranquil home ahead of an immaculate house.
Who knows a kind act will be remembered longer than an easy word,
Who really believes prayer changes things,
Whose faith in the future sweetens the present,
Whose Bible never needs dusting,
Whoose sense of humor is alive and well.

Becky's Diaper Bag

This is a Diaper bag I made for my friend Becky's baby shower. She's having a baby boy pretty much any day now and all her nursery stuff is a jungle theme. I was thrilled with how this turned out and she really seemed to like it. Can't wait to meet little Andrew!

So Sweet!

I loooooove this picture of Casey and me. My great friend Angela took this pic, along with probably more than half the pics you'll see on this blog! She's an amazing photographer and has started her own business! You can see her portolio here.

Stockings

These are the stockings I made for us this Christmas. I saw the tree and dove ones in a Pier One catalogue last year and copied them. Then I designed the snowman one for Natalie ane candy canes for Layla. I am super proud of these. Plus, I got my new sewing machine, a Pfaff Smart 200c in the middle of making them so that made it all the more fun. I am suuuuuper proud of these babies! They are the coolest thing I've made in awhile.

Clowning Around : )

This is the clown costume I made Natalie for our church's Fall Festival. I had too much fun making this and she absolutely loved wearing it. She wore the hat around the house for days after until I put it away for Layla to wear in a couple years!

Natalie Paige

This is our beautiful baby girl, Natalie Paige. We call her Peanut a lot and love her sooooo much! She gets the sillies often, like her Mommy and has her Daddy's determination. Such a delight and an honor to call our own!
